Start of Semester 2

Hi, I just started my second semester of Uni. It seemed like a whole new beginning for me. I mean even though I did have semester one to get accustomed to the uni I still felt nervous today. It was because I started all new subjects. Today's subject was Digital Media Production. I wasn't sure if it was going to be what I expected but it seemed interesting and fun to me. So I was there in the morning waiting for the lecture. It was in a diffeent faculty to all other sem 1 subjects I had done, I didn't realy know this particular area of the uni and did not know anyone. The lecture began and was pretty cool actually, it was just an introduction to the subject/unit though. I did end up seeing one familiar face though, a person from one of my previous subjects last semester. Later today, I had my first tutorial/practical, again an introduction of course (lol, it would seem odd without one). I did not know anyone and tried to talk to people but was still shy. I hate it when I am shy, because that it not part of my real personality and it stops me from communicating properly. By the end of today's lecture and tutorial, I feel I will find this a worthwhile experience.....

Communication Barrier (I feel like there is a brick wall stopping me)
Please comment if you have ever had this experience

Escape from reality...

There are some situations in life when a person may feel the need to escape from the reality of their life. This I believe can be when a person feels under pressure, bored, annoyed and/or sad. Maybe one avenue of escape is using the Internet? A person is open to a different world, a cyber world. But really, can the Internet replace life? This line of though reminds me of second life. I have heard a bit about it but never been on it.....not thinking of going on.

There are so many different people in the world each with individual thoughts. Maybe this individual nature of people brings about the many inventions and ideas we have come use to. What is your favourite invention? Not sure of mine, I like a whole lot of inventions e.g. fridge, tv, computer, for a start. Heaps more.....can't go through the list. Then another question I pose, are we too reliant on these inventions or technolgies? For example the computer. Are we not use to it so much so that we spend a lot of time doing things on it. There are also situations where we are on it, but not really doing anything productive. E.g. going on facebook and just sittting there for hours looking random stuff and waiting for replies. I myself do this very thing. I think it has become a habit of mine. Not every day though, maybe every second. LOL. (My use of LOL, is that not part of technology and how everything can change- language changes as society does. One day a word maybe considered rude or inappropriate, then the next day it is part of mainstream society.)

P.S I started talking about escaping reality then moved onto inventions and technology. It is so weird how a person's thoughts can go from one topic to another. Maybe that is another topic I will post about. Till then......toodles.

I leave you with a random pic of clouds. Source: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2289/2042204623_d4e6453913_o.jpg

Overthinking...

Do we as people overthink things? Well sometimes I can. When I speak to someone I sometimes think back to what I said and whether it made sense or came out right. Thinking too much is a bad thing as you over- analyse and made it into a bigger issue than what it really is. Then on the other hand, not thinking can have dire consequences. So to find a balance would be the best. How though?

I ask you....

P.S. I don't know what I am thinking now. LOL

Holidays are coming to an end....

So what can I say...my six week holiday is coming to an end..only a week left. Really how could it have passed so quick? I think if I was given a year holiday it would still not be enough. I haven't blogged in a while. I know I did say that I would maintain the blog regularly, but that did not happen. Maybe from now on my approach will be to blog post whenever I feel. So that may be within a few days, a week or more.

Looking back, this holiday did not contain much action. I did go to the movies, bowling, a bit of shopping and out with family and friends. But I really did want to have a special holiday. It's always NOT as you plan. You say I will do these things but never do. I wonder how some people can stick to one thing and not change their mind. I become really lazy or just forget about things. LOL. I know in my last post I did recommend a song from Tame Impala, now I am going to purchase their debut album: Innerspeaker. There is something I like about this group, not quite sure what as I usually do not like music from now. Yep I am more into old music, I mean from the 60's and 70's. But it depends, I do like a variety of music, I am still discovering new artists and music genres as I go along.

One thing also that hindered my posting my blog was the state of my computer. It needed to be repaired. Not the whole thing of course, just the CD/DVD drive. There was some sort of fault with it.

I am gonna try and take it easy this week, might as well use my time wisely. If anyone is out there and has suggestions, please feel free to comment with any ideas of how to spend a fun week. Thanks and goodnight. :)

I leave you with a picture of Tame Impala's new album

Great Song

Hi everyone, I was just feeling bored, so I decided to put up a post. Right now I am listening to Tame Impala an Australian band. The song is Sundown Syndrome, it's from 2009. I am addicted to this song. Check it out on youtube:

(I thought it would match the song title, it sort of reminds me of the sun)

Second Post on Blog

Hi again, how are you all doing? Right now I am feeling sort of happy. Today was actually an alright day. Did some work on a research paper I have. I better finish it soon, it is coming along though so I am happy. I have to also study for an exam that is coming up in just under a week. After that I am on holidays, which will be great. I miss just lazying about sitting on the couch and doing nothing (LOL). There are some things that I would like to do though in the holidays. Shopping is one thing that I haven't had time for in ages. I know it sounds weird, but yes girls like to shop. The guys out there will be wondering what's the big deal about shopping, but it's something girls do so that must be one of the many things girls don't have in common with males. That's enough about shopping...

So, about the blog, I will maintain it, keep updating it when I have the time. Hopefully this blog will be a great experience for me :) It's feels good just expressing oneself. I think that is the main reason why people start a blog, they act as an outlet to express ideas, emotions and opinions on various subjects. That is what I aim to do.

Take care...I leave you with this picture I took back in April...

Till next time...good night

WELCOME TO MY BLOG

Hi , WELCOME to my Blog!

This Blog will contain the following:
* An expression of my current thoughts
* Current feelings and
* Any random thing that I decide to discuss

So where to begin? Firstly (using my signposting language-I’ve been told that it helps keep an audience focused), I will talk about how I am feeling right now…hmmm…yes you guessed it…I am feeling down…don’t really know why, but some days you just can’t help feeling like this. But for now I will be excited…my Blog launch.

Hi again, LOL, just started a new paragraph (my second on the Blog). So how can we describe life…just thought of life right now, might as well discuss it. My life; sometimes it can be fun, sometimes so boring and at times lonely. I believe everyone has different phases in life, so one point in your life would have consisted of a variety of emotions or lack of emotions. Have you ever had times where you feel a few emotions at once? Say, for example you are tired out of your wits but don’t feel like sleeping. For days now I have been sleeping extremely late, I know it is bad for my health and all that, but (here it goes), I really don’t know why I sleep late, time flies. One day time is going so slow that 7 minutes seems to be more like 7 hours. Some days two hours feels like 10 minutes. It probably depends on what you are doing and whom you are with.

Who does not love Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album; right now I am listening to it. Yes I do like The Beatles :) I also like The Monkees. Some may say that they are manufactured band to imitate The Beatles. But in their own right I believe they are a real band. I also love the TV show. Grew up on it, watching re-runs and videos and a few years back purchasing the DVD box set. Aren’t DVD box sets awesome? You have all the episodes right there, great for episode marathons. I could just sit on the couch for hours, watching DVDs (LOL- I know it sounds weird- but really who does not do that).

My interests: I am into the 1960s and 1970’s era, I like the music as well as the TV shows. Here a list of some of the shows I like:

* Bewitched (first on my list, you can never go wrong with it)
* I Dream of Jeannie
* The Invaders
* UFO
* The Partridge Family
* Space Academy
* Lost in Space (actually went to two collectors conventions a while back, met Marta Kristen, she was really nice and friendly, I was a small child back then. Even earlier, the first convention I went to Mark Goddard was a guest, but I don’t really remember much, it was over 10 years ago).
* Department S
* The Monkees
* The Invisible Man (from the 1950’s)
* Space 1999
* Family Affair
* Here’s Lucy
List continues…(can’t think of anymore right at this moment)

As you can see my list of favourite TV shows consists of Science fiction and family TV shows. Yes I am into Science Fiction/Fantasy, sort of grew up with it. Not into all the Star Trek and Star Wars films but other films like, The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951-How awesome is this film), The First Men in The Moon (Have to watch it at least once a year-that reminds me haven’t watched it yet this year), Logan’s Run, Robinson Crusoe on Mars (great film!) and … (can’t think of anymore it is getting late- my brain is starting to get tired).

Woah, my post is looking really long now. I think it is time to sign out and say goodbye. Thanks, for reading my post. You are welcome to visit my Blog, anytime. Till next time…be seeing you (just remembered another great show- The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan- the show has a great theme- link to it below):
